The Daily Deal site buyout activity continues this week with Spreets.com.au selling for 40m
Yes you read right. 40 million dollars. Australian site Spreets has been sold by its founders to Yahoo7. The online media company owns top site yahoo.com.au and is a partner with channel 7.
Spreets.com.au launched in February 2009, so its been less than a year from start up to sale. The Aussie daily deal site market differs from NZ. The Aussie sites are mostly owned by media companies. In New Zealand, most of the sites are owned by private companies.
1 Day Deal sites are hot property right now, and if you have a successful site be prepared for an offer. In New Zealand this week, Groupy.co.nz was sold to the Yellow Pages Group. For a site just 6 months old this was a great feat.
